This year’s FEBS-IUBMB-ENABLE conference will be hosted by the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (IBiS) in Seville, Spain.

IBiS was founded in 2006 as a public interdisciplinary biomedical research institute focused on translational research. It covers five key areas: neurosciences; cardiovascular and respiratory pathology; oncohematology and genetics; infectious diseases and the immune system; and hepatic, digestive, and inflammatory diseases. It is located within one of the largest hospital campuses in Spain, drawing in top researchers from the main health care centers across the region.

The institute supports training in biomedicine at undergraduate, Master and PhD level, including medical specialists combining clinical duties and research. It also offers frequent seminars and workshops on scientific and other skills, such as science communication. IBiS hosts annual events that feature internationally renowned speakers and foster interaction between young researchers, and it organizes a set of supportive activities aimed specifically at PhD students, to address their concerns, increase their visibility, and provide them with networking and development opportunities.
